Champions League ...

2 more games in Champions League and what did we manage to do? 2 draws in matches that "belong to us".
2 days before AEK for once more couldn't score, although they had many "easy" chances and scored only a "lucky" goal by Cesar. The referee could have given a penalty kick in 2-3 times, but when you are not able to score in easy chances then there is a big problem, mostly for stress or anxiety!! Let's see what happens next! Ferrer shows that he is a great coach and he treats all players the same making a "rotation" system, which is great! AEK plays mostly very well, but they need to score!!!!!!!!

Olympiacos yesterday had one of the biggest chances to make his first away win in Champions League in his history, but again he didn't make it. When you are playing against a (not very known) Shakhtar, you score two times and take the advance both times and you cannot hold back in the defense and you cannot win, then you may never make an away win! Hey Mr. Sollied...this bald guy that plays as a left wing from Serbia...will you still keep him for many matches in the first team???? For 2 years now he hasn't played a good match and he is negative to the team!!! But also Mr. Sollied...the substitution of Anatolakis with Patsatzoglou why it was made???? What were you thinking man??? It was completely irrelevant and the other two substitutions were on 85' and on 90'!!! NO COMMENTS!!

The bad news from yesterday was the injury of Samuel Eto'o...what a pity...he is one of the best and quickest strikers in the world and again had an injury and will be out of play for at least 2 months......

Today there is UEFA Cup matches..... GO NEWCASTLE!!!!!
Let;s see what Panathinaikos will do :D

Dario Silva...

Today unfortunately i don't have good news nor a happy disposal due to a tragic accident. A great Argentinian football player, Dario Silva, had a car accident yesterday in Argentina. While he was driving his car in Ramblas, he crushed into a cemented lamppost and together with 2 former teammates ejected out of his car! The resule? Although his teammates weren't hurt much, his right foot was crushed by the lamppost as it fell on the car and the doctors couldn't do anything else but to amputate his leg just under his knee.
What an inglorious end in his carreer!!
What a pity!!

Week review...

I hope you didn't miss me - right??? AIt's been a week since i last wrote something here, but what can you do, you see i was away on a business trip in Berlin for a meeting. It is not accepted though these days to be invited in a business meeting and not to provide you free internet access and you should pay much money to get access in a T com WLAN. And also you are paying 170 euros for conference fee (coffees etc.)... Have MERCY!!!

So...it's Berlin...my second time there, in the exact same hotel, next to the lake of Mueggelsee, on the south-east of the city and with public transportation about 1h away from the center of the city (bus, train and train again). It is quite nice next to the lake, but it is too far away from the city. If you have a free timeslot you can't visit the city since it is too far!! Do they do that intentionally, so that you are not able to skip the sessions for a walk in the city??? Anyway, i managed to skip a morning session and made a trip to the city and went to the Hertha BSC boutique to buy some souvenirs - the mascots were a little bit expensive!

Now let's talk sports! My teams went pretty good this week. Juve is in a great shape and continues playing very well (2 wins this week with 3-0 and 4-0). Alex scored in both games...do you see that Mr. Capello???????????????????? Atletica also won 2 games (go Maxi!!!) but unfortunately Hertha got a draw and lost the first place (the people in the boutique were telling me they would not be in the first place after that match :( ). Alemannia also lost, though they scored first in the Allianz Arena, but playng there against Bayern is like suicide :P . But still, they show that they have a very good team and that they will have a good year!!!

As for AEK, what can i say... when you play really good but you cannot score (not an own goal) you cannot win, even when the opposite team sucks!

My teams....

Now, let's see...Juve won their first game in Serie B today and now they have -13 points. Trezeguet and Del Piero scored for the team. That was Trezeguet's first appearance in Serie B (if i'm not mistaken), though his manager was saying that the player wants to leave the team in January...let's see if the team at that time is in a very good shape and is reaching the promotion if he will still want to leave!!!
One day i'll write my opinions for what happened in the Italian football and my team from May until now...

In Germany, Bundesliga, my favorite team (since May when i visited their home city) Alemannia Aachen was promoted to Bundesliga and they are surprising everyone with their appearances. After beating 0-3 Hannover as the away team, today they won 4-2 Gladbach! Let's hope they will continue these appearances, because the people there LOVE their team and that's why now Stadion Tivoli is very small and they are building a new stadium. KEEP THE GOOD WORK GUYS!!!!

Bad decisions bad decisions!!!...

Yeap!!! As we had foreseen, Panathinaikos' coach Hans Bakke is fired, after only 3 months in the team!!!!
Hey, you guys at Paianiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
what can someone do in ONLY 3 months???? what????????????
Now go hire Adrianse and fire him after 4 months, this will be a record for the guy who coached the team for the longest time!

BE SERIOUS!!!!!!

UEFA Cup

Once again the greek football teams managed to surprise Europe with their appearances yesterday in UEFA Cup. Except Iraklis all the other teams represented efficiently the greek football, showing its real face!!
Now let's be more serious! Only Iraklis (greek for Hercules, a name taken by ancient greek mythology) showed the greek strength of the respective ancient greek hero, winning 1-0 and being the away team. Atromitos played well only for one half and if they played better at the first half they could have taken a better result. Ksanthi was great attacking but poor defending and that's why they lost 3-4 and Panathinaikos.................
This thing with the greek football fans is terrible!! The team should always win, not loose or draw. Except winning the other results are forbidden. They should win all the games. When you win you are a god and when you loose you are terrible, dead meat. Panathinaikos didn't play well yesterday and although they scored first, they came up with a draw. What were the consequences of the game result? The fans went into the field and tried to hit the coach and the players!!!! Who? Those they were cheering when they won 1-4 to Aegaleo at the first game of Greek Superleague. And now what? Hans Bakke will be probably fired, after only a few months being the coach!!! Please...MERCY!!! Will they ever make a good competing team when they change their coach in a few months?

Now the good stuff...Newcastle of course did win, only 1-0 though away to Talin. It doesn't matter, winning is the goal!!! GO NEWCASTLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

20 years.........+ 1 day

It's been already 20 years and 1 day......... September 13 1986, a date that has been written in blacjk letters in the memory of the residents of Kalamata. Greece. An erthquake of magnitude 6.0 Richter (for some it was 6,2 or even 6,5) hit the city in the evening and resulted in 20 dead people and destroyed a big part of the city. The "fortunate" thing (if i can say that) was that at the same time, most of the people were at the city harbor, as it was a big celebration of the first ship travelling from Kalamata to the island of Crete, so there were not many people inside their appartments. What i remember very well is an appartment building near the river that was split in two parts. The left part was staying without damages, though the right part was destroyed! Very strange thing! The bad thing after the earthquake was that the winter was very cold that year and on March i saw my first snow! Imagine the people living in tents...

Where was i that night? I was 5,5 years old, getting ready to go to elementary school for the first time. What i remember is that i was at the 4th floor on the balcony of a 4-floor appartment building with some family friends, though my parents and my brother were at the harbor celebrating for the ship. Suddenly, i remember that everything was moving under my feet, my friend's mother was yelling at us to go with her, she took my hand and we walked fast down the stairs. When we went downstairs and out to the road, after a while i saw my father, who had came to see if we were ok (no mobile phones then!). After that what? Forseveral months we were living in our village, about 20-25 minutes away from Kalamata, because our appartment building was being repaired.

Anyway, now Kalamata is a very beautiful city and almost nothing reminds the city before the earthquake...

Champions League #2

Same old things yesterday for the greek teams! Although AEK tried very hard for a good result, they didn't make it against MILAN. AEK seemed to start with an attacking formation, but there were problems in the middle, there were players in the defense and in the attack but not in the middle. Ferreer made a mistake with putting Moras as a defensive midfielder, cause he can't play in that position and another guy should have been there (probably Ivic), but hey you guys in the back, get a HEADER!!!!

Anderlecht got a draw unfortunately, although they scored first and Machester UTD clinched a win against rivals Celtic given a penalty that neither Alex Ferguson himlesf would have given!!

What was the great result yesterday??? What else than Olympique Lyonnais crashing Real Madrid!!! Only one team was in the field yesterday and that wasn't Real. Where was the great Cannavaro, the best player of Italy in the World Cup and where was Emerson the big transfer from Juve???????? Zouninho and Malouda were partying last night, like they were playing against a third division team!! That's The spirit guys!! Show them they shouldn't have left JUVE!!!

Now for UEFA Cup today, let;s see what the greek teams can do, but GO NEWCASTLE!!!!

Champions League

1st day of Champions League yesterday and Olympiacos had a very disappointing night! He started the match great like everygame in Karaiskaki stadium, scoring an early goal and then what??? The coach probably hadn't scouted Valencia and he didn't know that Valencia's game is COUNTER-ATTACKS!!! If he had seen the Saturday game against Atletico Madrid then he would have known that! Study man!!! 1-0 become 1-2 in less than 10 minutes! And 2-2 became 2-4 very easily again, all the goals from counter-attacks!

Barcelona had an easy night and Carles Puyol scored!! Vamos Puyol!!Bayern Munich had an easy night also.

The great thing was the INTER MILAN LOST!!! Yeah man!! Ibrahimovic and Vieira went to sleep very sad last night! YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE LEFT JUVE!!

For today what?Go Anderlecht and GO AEK!!!!! BEAT MILAN!!

The adventure begins...

Hi Guys, welcome to my blog. I hope we'll have a nice time here. Wish me luck
